Esther's Update and New Prayer Requests

I just came out from being with Fergus...he's doing so much better and yet...

He is currently off of the ventilator tube and doing well. He grunts and coughs, but with much effort. I was able to hold him for the first time today and he seemed to relax a little bit more when against my shoulder. Currently, though, he is having problems with his joints being stiff. They won't bend very well. I tried working with his elbows just now and I could barely get them to bend. Everything that the physical therapists have done so far has worked well - his hands and feet are looking good but they haven't worked as much with his joints.

I know that we need to work with his joints and muscles a lot but I also know that more than anything we do, God must heal them. Please pray for his muscles and joints.

Our heads would not be kept above water without your prayers. Please ask the God of the universe, the source of life, to grant that life abundantly to our son.

He could also use prayer for resting. He is agitated and won't rest easily. He also has quite a bit of congestion in the lungs.

Thank you for praying for our son.

  1. Dear Matt and Esther, We are praying. The Lord has been leading both Chris and I in prayer, together and seperately. When we will talk about what we were lead to pray many times its been a similiar sense. I share that to encourage you that we are praying and unlike other times of intercession wondering how to keep praying, God has been putting on our hearts more of a direction... So how are we praying, for total restoration, of his body, mind and spirit, that he would be back with his family in everyway. Also, feel such a strong sense of thankfulness for his life. Often I find myself just giving thanks for Fergus' life so far, for the wonderful gift of his life now and for the rest of his time on earth and for all of eternity. We also pray for your comfort and rest from our heavenly Father. We pray that you will experience His grace and His arms carrying you all through this time.
We love you, Chris and Patty Keith

  5. Esther and Matt,
My dear sweet friends. Love you guys. I wish I could be there to hug your necks! Even figured out it would take me 18.5 hours to be there to do it!

I didn't know about the blog, just googled your names and found it. I am so happy to have the updates. All I have been thinking about is you and praying non-stop for you all. I swear/promise...whatever...that my prayers for You and Fergus and the kids will stand as a memorial before God...(Acts 10:4) You all are all I am thinking for and praying about right now.

I wrote a bit on my blog before I found yours....http://aplaceintheson.blogspot.com/ Praying you find hope every minute of every day.

    Love you.

  7. We are praying for your precious boy. God is so very faithfull. Stay strong sweet family. My youngest, Andrew, is six days older than Fergus so your story has touched this mommy deeply. Just remember Jesus loves the little children. If you don't know about caringbridge.com you may want to take a look at it. It is free and very easy to use and has lots of extras. With love in Christ!

  9. Lord, I pray that every part of Fergus body be restored. His joints, marrow, brain, muscles, head, mind, eyes, ears, nose, mouth, bones, arms, legs, hands and his heart. I call upon you Lord to dispatch your Angel's out to minister to this child and repair all that has been broken. I ask for grace, favor and blessing to be upon this child and that he will be used greatly as a testimony of your goodness and grace. I pray that his heart and soul will be focused on Kingdom works and that he will be a blessing to his parents. Be with the family today. Walk with them, talk to them, let your love abound and let all the world see the working of your hands. I pray this will deepen Ester's and Matt's faith and that every word that proceeds out of their mouth will be words that will glorify you.
We claim this for Fergus and this family in the Mighty name of Jesus Christ. Let it be done according to your word and your will. Amen!

  10. May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him , so that you may abound in hope through the power of the Holy Spirit. Cast all your anxiety on Him, for He cares for you. May our Creator who created little Fergus comfort you and give you strength for each day, decision, minute as you lean on Him. Praying for you and your family and your other children. We don't know you, got a message from the Hannan's sunday school class at Bethlehem Baptist in MN, but we know and love the same God. May you rest in Him.

  11. Hello there,

We are running an update about Fergus on our e-mail prayer letter, and friends around the nation have your little boy on their hearts.

My cousin's granddaughter, Hayley, (almost 7) is going through very similar things ... although Influenza B went to her brain, and she has been in a coma for about six weeks now, I believe. We pray total restoration for both Fergus and Hayley.

God is faithful, and He is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think! (Eph. 3:20)

    "For since the world began
no one has seen or heard of such a God as ours,
Who works for those Who wait for Him."
    - Isaiah 64:4 TLB

God bless you, Everett and Renie in Wyoming
