a new button

Fergus came out of surgery yesterday with a feeding tube put into his belly, with a button on top. They put him back on the ventilator for just a few hours but he was able to breathe on his own again, very soon. He seemed very uncomfortable throughout the night, with a couple of hours of sleeping (with the help of some morphine). Right now, he is upset.

Please pray for the following:
- he still has an infection in his throat
- his breathing is usually congested or a dry wheezing sound
- he seems very anxious about almost anything
- his heart rate was very high today and he had a bit of a fever
- his joints are still really stiff and tight

I'm on my way to see him now and I'll tell him about you and all that you are doing for him. Thank you! - esther

  1. Esther,

You don't know me, but I'm a friend of Debbie's and have been following the progress of your precious Fergus. I wanted you to know that I am lifting you all up in prayer often during the day as the Lord brings you to mind. As a parent who has also lost two children (one to miscarriage and another to a tragic accident 5 years ago) my heart cries with you, but I also know I can't begin to imagine the pain you are feeling right now. I am praying that God will surround you with the love of family and friends and the peace that only He can give. That He will continue to give the Drs. wisdom in treating Fergus and to heal according to His perfect will. I believe with all my heart that our God is a God of miracles...Continue to hold on to Jesus as tight as you can! Know that you are being bathed in prayer! Jeremiah 29:11

  2. Matt and Esther, Im a little behind on my updates from CCC and just received word about Fergus. We are praying in Thailand for sure. Our son is just 3 months older than Fergus so the reality of your situation hits close to home. Our prayers are with you continually.

  4. I used to work with Cathy. Im praying for your precious Fergus! I know with the power of prayer Miracles DO happen! a friend of mine her son was in a BAD car crash several years back. Her 8 year old son took the blow from the crash. Doctors at Children's hospital told her he had 1% chance of making it. and if he did he would be a vegetable. Today he is a happy 14 year old who loves playing sports! God is amazing! I know he has wonderful things planned for Fergus! God Bless you all!
